EPE Summer School 2010
The EPE Summer School tooks place from 1-3 and 8-10 July for the third time and the first time in English. This format ensures that the intensive training is now open also to foreign postgraduates and postdocs in the natural sciences, information technology and economics and social sciences at the University of Potsdam and other research institutes.
In the Summer School, participants received training in setup skills and entrepreneurial ways of thinking and acting, which helped them develop their own business ideas for business concepts in interdisciplinary teams. The focus here was on innovative and technology-oriented company startup ideas. The training sessions were carried out by trainers with professional practical experience. A coach supervised the teams throughout the whole training period.
The 3x3 concept is as follows
Block I 1-3 July 2010 (Thu/ Fri/ Sat)
From 1-3 July participants received insights into the generation of business ideas, the creation of a business plan and the significance of international marketing and sales.
Block II 8-10 July 2010 (Thu /Fri /Sat)
The second block took place in the following week from 8-10 July on specific questions regarding legal forms, cooperation and contribution models, plus financing. At the end, the teams presented the business plans they drew up together with the economists.
Block III (n.n.)
In the last block which had to be shifted, participants will develop the knowledge and strategic company startup management skills they received by playing the tried and tested TrainInc simulation game.
Members (postgraduates, phD-students and postdocs) of the University of Potsdam and other research institutes can take part in the EPE Summer School, in particular those from the natural sciences, information technology and economics and social sciences.
The EPE Summer School is designed in particular for those interested in setting up their own company or who have already developed a solid business idea.
